American Mothers Announces 75th Anniversary of Mother and Young Mother of the Year Awards

Celebrating its rich and eventful history, American Mothers, Inc. ® will announce the 75th Mother and Young Mother of the Year® on May 1, 2010 at the Waldorf=Astoria in New York City, the same location where President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s mother, Sara Delano Roosevelt, presented the first award in 1935.
The National Convention is a two-day celebration that will begin on April 30. During the convention, members from across the country will gather and be recognized for their parenting abilities. These mothers will also have the opportunity to receive leadership training from the American Mothers, Inc. National Board.
“American Mothers is thrilled to announce the Mother and Young Mother of the Year for 2010 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City on May 1st. What is most exciting about this honor is these mothers represent the millions of American women who embrace the role of mother each day,” stated American Mothers, Inc President, Deanne Taylor.
The leadership provided at this convention will train mothers to become a better influence in their communities and empower them to help other mothers reach, teach and honor.
An honorary dinner will be held on April 30 to recognize the 2009 National Mother and Young Mother of the Year. The announcement of the 2010 recipients will be the following evening in the Empire Room of the Waldorf=Astoria at approximately 7:20 p.m.
