Melancholy Surroundings of the Cemetery Proves the Inspiration in Eve J. Alfille’s Series, ‘Raining at Rosehill’

Evanston, IL (PRWEB) November 16, 2009

Eve J. Alfille Gallery & Studio announced today the release of the new Series, ‘Raining at RoseHill’. The combination of historical references and childhood experiences materializes with unique combinations of Titanium and Rose Gold. “The use of contrasting metals allows me to express the reaction of periods of time clashing,” said Eve J. Alfille, gem expert, archeologist and jewelry designer for the Eve J. Alfille Gallery & Studio. “The use of sapphires, opals and moonstones allows balance with a melancholy and graceful appearance.”

The inspiration occurred over the course of a year as Eve enjoyed her walks around the neighborhood. “I would purposely walk at dusk by one of our beautiful cemeteries admiring the statuaries, ponds and vegetation surrounding the stories of the past while recalling the emotions felt as a child.” It wasn’t until Eve attended Chicago-based, David Schachman exhibits that brought the memories to the surface.

The sketches for the new Series, ‘Raining at Rosehill’, began to take on elongated circles with forms and shapes of the 1930’s. Blended with textures of ivy and several elements of nature, the gems enhance the experience by capturing and releasing light in different ways at various angles.
